Webster Man Killed in Sump-Well Electrical Accident
Joseph Witkus a Grenville cream buyer was electrocuted late Tuesday when a sump he was pulling from a well touched a high voltage wire. Aniot Kefowski also of Grenville was repairing the well. Kefowski suffered burns but no further injuries. Witkus is survived by his widow and four children.

Peculiar Pheasant Shot Near Onida
Onida reports an unusual pheasant killed on the Luther Chamberlain farm southwest of town since hunting opened. Wings and tail were barred rock like, head and breast pheasant colors. The bird was about 1.5 times larger than a typical pheasant and was shot in the grove near the Chamberlain yard. Mrs. Chamberlain raises barred rock chickens.

St Lawrence Livery Barn Destroyed by Fire
A northeast wind fueled a blaze that destroyed the old livery barn owned by P. C. Arends in St. Lawrence. Local volunteers fought the fire with Miller fire department help. adjoining structures were saved. The building was partly insured and Abe Cornwall’s staged stock and truck were reportedly insured as well.

Howard Woman Overcome By Gas Fumes
Mrs. Chris Clemetson of Howard narrowly escaped death Saturday when she was overcome by fumes from a hard coal burner. She fell unconscious at 7 AM while getting up, remained unconscious for an hour, and remained in bed for two days as family members alerted help.

Irma Vondracek, a sophomore, became vice president with Kurt Hohne as secretary and LeNora Vondrace as freshman secretary.
