Rabbits In Good Condition After Saturday's Game
Brookings S D October 12 State s Jackrabbits came out of the rugged battle with North Dakota State Bison at Fargo Saturday with only the customary humps and bruises. Coach R H Threlfall said the entire squad would be in excellent shape for the Saturday test against the Morning side Maroons of Sioux City. He noted a red battle is expected from Morning side as Sioux City has everything to win and nothing to lose by knocking them off the perch after their climb. The Rabbits have defeated the Bison and aim to stay in Central Conference title contention. Threlfall said Morning side s 32 defeat was not a criterion of the Rabbits true strength. He believes the Omaha II success shows the Maroons may be ready for a tough test against State. Spectators at practice feel the Rabbits have shaken off underdog status and are playing with renewed confidence after the Bison win. The Rabbits have been surprised by the Maroons in past years, and Threlfall and assistants are drilling defense to counter Sioux Cityans.
