Henry Bender Dies After Illness Near Wolsey
Henry Bender aged 65 died after over four months of illness at his brother William Bender’s home one mile east and six miles south of Wolsey in De horn township. He will be buried in Gilman Iowa with funeral services Friday afternoon at the Congregational church. Born April 12 1885 near Gilman he lived there with parents until their deaths. He moved to Marshalltown then South Dakota then Carthage before returning to Wolsey last Thursday. Surviving are brothers William Bender Wolsey and Joseph Bender Marshalltown Iowa and 15 nieces and nephews. He had never married. Eight of the 26 American governors of California resigned before completing their term.
