Redfield Church Plans Pioneer Memorial for Ashmun Loomis
Redfield Congregational church will honor pioneer Ashmun Loomis with a memorial service at 11 a.m. Sunday. Loomis, a banker and longtime Redfield leader, died March 25, 1926, after decades of church and civic service. Attendees from Huron Mitchell Columbia Aberdeen and elsewhere expected. Loomis came to South Dakota in 1883 and later served as Redfield city council member and state senator.
