In Pierre on November 25, residents face difficulty obtaining hi point beer after December 31 if their towns have not voted on on sale liquor. The beverage, up to 6 percent alcohol, is banned for sale by beer parlors in towns rejecting on sale liquor under a legal opinion. Seven Pieri ver Class K licensees push for a law revision as 75 Class K licenses exist statewide.

Blizzard Shows Value Of Trees In Shelterbelts
BROOKINGS November 25 Special Ten and twelve foot snow banks remained along upland soil due to shelterbelts planted by the Forest Service. The belts held snow to prevent moisture loss, with one belt near Mitchell showing over twelve feet of snow depth and about 6806 tons of water held, aiding soil moisture. Pheasants thrived under these belts, with hundreds observed within the Ed Casey shelter belt and nearby belts during the Armistice Day blizzard.

Thomas Lewis of Groton South Dakota lost a bid in the state superior court on Friday to win release from Western State Penitentiary where he serves time for holding up C F Garris of Avalon Pennsylvania fifteen years ago. Lewis was sentenced in 1928 to terms of five to ten years on two indictments. He escaped Western Penitentiary in 1930 and was recaptured in 1932 in Sacramento.
