Flapper Gertrude Mason Engaged to Earl Read

Los Angeles girl Gertrude Mason, visiting Fortieth Street aunt Mrs George L Barnex in Los Angeles, has been featured in local social events since her engagement to Earl Read. Plans include a January wedding after a six week East trip ending with a Chicago USC ND game. Read, from a pioneer California family, is UC Berkeley educated and Delta Kappa law fraternity member. Mason is USC graduate and Alpha Gamma Delta member.

Hope Lad Ladies Aid Meeting At Dickinson Home

Mrs FE Tedkinson hosted the Hope Ladies Aid at her Dickinson home with Mrs Seeman presiding. Two contests were held with winners Mrs Ross Cumming Mrs Lorentz Tikeness and Mrs Van Horn. A Thanksgiving supper was served to thirteen members and one guest. Next meeting is December 5 with Mrs Lorentz Likeness.

Pythian Sisters Officers Host Bridge Night

Mrs LeRoy Boggs entertained the Pythian Sisters Officers club at three tables of bridge at her home on Sixteenth and Wisconsin southwest. Mrs J B Annis and Mrs Nellie Perry won score honors. Guests included Miss Faye Cooley and Miss Ella Dahl, with Miss Dahl winning the guest prize. Refreshments were served. The next meeting will be at Mrs Frank Mackness's home at 530 Montana Avenue southwest in two weeks.

Aberdeen American News reports a social dinner bridge hosted by Miss Helen McKenzie on South Main. Honored guest Mrs Martyn Hedblom of Huron and her young son Harlyn Jr visited relatives and friends, with Daisy Schade of Redfield also attending. Decorations reflected Thanksgiving season.

Clyde Center Club Meeting Held at Davies Home

Twenty members attended a Clyde Center club gathering on Thursday afternoon at Mrs. Ben Davies’s home nine miles west of Huron. Prize winners in the contest were Mrs. Frank Umbar ger, Mrs. Frank Kent and Mrs. B. J. Lynch. The club plans a grab bag at the Christmas Stinging on December 5 with Mrs. Frank Kent coordinating.

A social farewell shower for Mrs. G H Shayvel of Chicago was hosted by friends at Mrs J B Smith 844 Wisconsin Ave SW with bridge scores announced for Mrs Cardrum and Mrs Chrig Anderson. Announcement follows of Evelyn French and Marion Olinger marriage performed at the Methodist parsonage with details of attendants and reception. Hunters later hosted by Harland Stafford at 109 Florence Ave SW with guests including the Arcularinas and daughter Adelle.
