Vermillion Girl Earns Hall of Fame Nod in Music
Dorothy Cohen Colton of Vermillion, daughter of W R Colton dean of fine arts at the University of South Dakota, was elected to the Hall of Fame of the School Musician for her performance in the national music contest at Elmhurst Illinois last summer. At 15 she is a Vermillion high school sophomore and first violinist in the school quartet, both earning first division at Elmhurst and District and state contests. She credits D A Lent, Vermillion music supervisor, for guidance.

Gettysburg Man Acquitted of Robbery Charge
A. H. Weatherer of Lebanon, charged with third degree burglary for a Jan. 14 robbery, was acquitted by a circuit court jury after two days of testimony. The state’s case relied on circumstantial evidence including car tracks from a Lebanon station to Weatherer’s home and cans of stolen oil found on his premises. Weatherer’s alibi placed him in a Leb anon house from 8 p.m. Jan. 13 to 3 a.m. Jan. 14, supported by two witnesses.

Ralph Phillips of Sioux Falls has been named manager of the Paramount theater in Mitchell and will assume duties today. Phillips has previously managed the Orpheum theater in Sioux Falls for several months. Burr Cline, the current Mitchell manager, will move to Oshkosh Wisconsin to join Warner Brothers.

Mrs Dillon of Woonsocket Dies
Funeral services were held for Mrs. P. C. Dillon of Woonsocket at her daughter's home with Rev. Frank W. Cannon officiating. She died Friday afternoon at 85 years, seven months, and nine days, after long residence in Woonsocket, her husband having died in 1904. She had lived with her daughter seven miles north in recent years.

Yankton Man Held For Alimony Failure
Wes ley M. Saum of Yankton was jailed in Minnehaha county for contempt of court after failing to pay $25 monthly alimony to his ex wife Leona Stanieck of Sioux Falls. The annual bazaar at Yale benefiting the community church attracted good crowds and netted about 40 dollars. Supper was served and raffle tickets were sold. The next aid meeting will be at Mrs. Glen Foote on Thursday, November 15.
