In New York City yesterday Fiorello La Guardia won the mayoralty by about 20,000 votes as the fusion ticket swept city government. Tammany Hall was crushed with only limited local wins while La Guardia gained 12 of 16 votes on the board of estimate. McKee, Prial, and other fusion candidates also secured key offices as the Tammany machine suffered its most complete defeat in modern history.
