Cavalryman Is Killed In Hills Near Sturgis
Arnold B. Osborne of Hannibal Missouri a member of Troop E Fourth United States Cavalry Fort Meade was killed Tuesday morning in an automobile crash two miles west of Sturgis on Boulder Canyon road. Two companions were only slightly injured. The trio was returning to Fort Meade when they slowed for a detour caused by last week's floods.

Bible School Opens at Doland Methodist Church

Decoration Day Observed At Doland
Memorial Day services held in Doland led by American Legion Post No 69 with a parade from the schoolhouse featuring the color guard Deland band and local organizations. Memorial program included Flanders Field address cross decorations and taps with local youth groups and officials participating. In Frankfort the Women's Relief corps joined Methodist church service for Memorial Sunday with Rev G D Brown delivering the sermon. In Redfield the National Construction company began finishing gravel work on a local project.

After completion the crew will move to Hettinger North Dakota for another project and a painting crew from Jefferson has begun painting the 135 foot water tower in Boland with two coats inside and out as spring cleaning continues.
