Martha Rickert of St John s Lutheran Wolsey leads a list of 18 percent highest eighth grade graduates announced by County Superintendent Neltie M Brusso. An average of 85 23 was earned by Rickert with Doris Pierson Vernon township close behind at 95 11 18 and Enore Spring Custer township 84 3 Beulah Bagley Wellington township 82 9. 207 pupils passed the eighth grade exams reported by districts with three districts not reporting. Diplomas mailed today to eligible graduates with 18 failures among 235 tested. In Minneapolis on May 29 a bandit tied up Mrs. Raymond J. Martin and her maid in their apartment and escaped with diamonds worth several thousand dollars. Before fleeing, he left a box of vases on a table and loosened the bonds to allow the maid to free herself. A necklace valued at 2500 and a diamond studded scar pin were taken, described as a middle aged man who displayed an artistic fence of rumor behind the crime.

Four Hurt In Willow Lake Crash North of Willow Lake
Four persons severely injured and two shaken when two cars collided north of Willow Lake Thursday evening. L. W. Billington of Huron suffered a skull fracture and was taken to a Huron hospital. Carl Waldon, riding with him, was taken to Watertown with head injuries. Mrs. A Nutthrock driver of the other car, broke a rib and cut her neck and her daughter Mrs. Chris Wiebel suffered a broken arm. Two others were shocked but unharmed. Billington, 72, lives in Robinson apartments in Huron and is father of O. R. Billington, a local insurer. Condition described as most serious.
