Road project east of Huron moves dirt for new 6 mile road
A large road improvement underway east of Huron will cost over 180000 and rebuild about four miles of roadbed while forming an entirely new route for the remaining distance. About 85000 cubic yards of dirt will be moved to raise the bed one to two feet, widening to 30 feet with gravel shoulders. The Larson Erling crew of 25 men, 20 horses and 3 tractors started this week, with traffic detours in use and a westernward camp move planned as work advances.
