Lower Price For New Wheat Seen
Brookings reports the federal bureau of agricultural economics predicts new wheat may sell at lower levels than old wheat unless world prices rise due to crop problems. April U.S. cash wheat prices rose modestly from March while world prices gained, but not enough to match U.S. May futures. The April farm price for U.S. wheat was 582 cents per bushel with an average April price of 74.5 cents at six markets, and winter wheat conditions remain very good though spring regions face moisture shortages.
