Hogs Steady to Higher in Chicago Market Report

Hogs were steady to five cents higher in a moderately active Chicago market with a top at 6.95 and 8,000 hogs sold. Cattle trade was dull with weighty steers under pressure and fat cows weak to 25 lower. calves and sheep with varied pricing, few heavy calves sold up to 10.50 on Kosher accounts.

Flying Cadet Examinations Open at Huron Airport

Maj J P Murphy and Professsor R J Bond led the flying examining board at Huron airport to assess candidates for Kelly Field Texas. Maj M F Creneau and a crew of four then went to Brookings to examine 40 more applicants. The group will complete the state examination by weekend and depart from Huron after the tests. They fly in two Douglas B18 bombers.
