BROOKINGS May 23 The estimated buying power of South Dakota agricultural products rose nine points between March 13 and April 15, said R E Post of the State college department of agricultural economics. The gain follows a lengthy downtrend. April farm price level stood at 49 versus 14 prewar. The index shows grains and dairy leading advances while farmers’ living and production purchases remain at 100.

Reunion To Draw South Dakota Vets From 136th Infantry
OWATONNA Minn May 23 Minnesota veterans who served in the 136th during World War I are set to greet volunteers from South Dakota at the twelfth annual reunion of the Veterans association of the 126th infantry in DuVerne on June 10. The gathering marks the first in southwestern Minnesota and the first accessible to South Dakotans who joined the South Dakota cavalry in Camp Cody New Mexico in 1917. Col Mollison’s South Dakota volunteers and the old Second Minnesota made the 136th the first within the 34th division to reach full war strength. Col W T Mollison now of Minneapolis commanded the 336th and will be central to reunion activities. Arne Winger of Northfield serves as association president. Both men are well known in Owatonna.
