Pheasants Study Moves Forward To Aid South Dakota Agriculture
A joint project by the South Dakota Game and Fish Commission and South Dakota State College, with Ohio University, begins a two phase study on Chinese ring necked pheasants. It analyzes esophagus and stomach contents from 600 birds and a field survey to assess whether pheasants help or harm crops and insect outbreaks.

Two Injured In Groton Yellowstone Trail Wreck
Fred Hornaman of Groton and Martin Turguson of Pierpont were hurt when their Chevrolet coupe rolled over on the Yellowstone Trail near Aberdeen. Hornaman suffered two broken ribs a possible arm injury and unconsciousness after being thrown from the car. Turguson received minor bruises as the vehicle suffered extensive glass and side damage and was towed to Groton for repairs.

TPSWICH May 22 The goose that laid the golden egg was a myth but the turkey that laid an egg a day and sat on 27 previously laid is the property of Mrs Jesse Crisp. Two weeks ago Mrs Crisp set this bronze hen after she had remained on the nest a required length of time seeing the newly laid egg each day she thought it the product of some other hen but after watching she discovered the setting turkey hen was yielding two revenues at once or a dual purpose bird.

South Dakota extension service reports widespread use of agricultural outlook material by farmers. More than 16,000 attendees across about 140 meetings plus nearly 6,000 distributed circulars informed planning for 1929. Attendees cited newspapers as a key source. Day county saw 2000 at seven meetings. Clay county logged 856 across 13 meetings.
