Frankfort High School juniors hosted seniors and faculty at a Monday evening banquet in the school gym. The hall featured cardinal and gold and blue and white colors with a Chinese themed toast program. Ernie Harsenger presided as toastmaster while Supt. L. Peterson and others spoke. Music included a piano solo by Mildred Dorsey and a vocal duet by Eleanor Wiles and Alberta Frericks. Mothers of juniors served the dinner with sophomore class waiters in Chinese costumes.

Joseph Tali, 78, former adjuster for the state hail insurance department and for Hughes County, died here Wednesday of a heart ailment. He settled in Hughes County north of Pierre in 1904 and moved to Pierre in 1905. Surviving are the widow and five grown children.

Freak pig born on Iroquois farm shocks locals
A freak pig with a long snout like a wild boar was born at the Schounfelder farm near Troquois Lerday. The pig died soon after birth from strangulation and was preserved in alcohol for display. Nine other Poland China pigs in the brood were normal.
