A Y P Meetings Continued To Push Route Change
A Y P field representative J Der Kinderen announced plans to visit small towns along Federal Highway 14 to gain memberships as a condition for routing the road through South Dakota. He met business leaders in Lake Preston and scheduled booster sessions at Wessington, Miller, De Smet, St Lawrence, Cavour, Iroquois, Arlington and Dell Rapids. Madison,Huron and Pierre have already surpassed the needed level. The revised route would bypass Mitchell and Chamberlain, guiding traffic north to Dell Rapids and Madison then west through Huron to the Black Hills. The final decision hinges on next week’s meetings.
