Two Planes Crash in Ohio War Maneuvers Killing Pilot

May 18 report from Columbus says one pilot died and another was injured when two planes from the national army air maneuvers collided over a north side residential area. Lt. Meadows of the 9th Pursuit Squadron from Rockwell Field San Diego died after the crash. Fred Salter of Los Angeles survived a parachute escape. The crash occurred during a large mock battle with 104 planes, at about 15,000 feet, amid dramatic explosions and ground flames.

Funeral services for Milton J Lyon Sunday

Funeral services for Milton J Lyon lifelong South Dakota resident for 47 years who died Thursday morning will be held at 2 30 Sunday afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church with Dr Hubert Ketelle officiating. Oregon highway oil tests proposed on Federal No. 14 route

The state highway department may conduct an oil experiment on Federal Highway No. 14 from the east entrance of the State Pair grounds to a point west of Huron this year.
