Pierre May 15 The revised cigarette tax law regulations effective July 1 were announced by T O Ronayne director of the division of inspections at the state department of agriculture. The rules cover licensing stamping per package and penalties with details on taxes and enforcement.

April Exemption Warrants Remain Heavy Statewide
State Auditor William Dunn reported April saw 12 784 warrants issued, up from March. Motor vehicle exemption warrants rose to 6 919 in April from 3 508 in March, with total warrant value at 1 483 791 74 and motor vehicle exemptions at 180 849 03. Gas tax receipts fell, cigarette stamp sales climbed, and the general fund overdraft widened to 2 562 788 94 by April 30.
