South Dakota farmers report heavy flea beetle damage across the state. H C Severin of State College advises spraying with Bordeaux mixture using 3:3:50 or 4:4:50 formulas, plus lead arsenate and black leaf 40, repeated as needed. Apply when plants push above soil, possibly every five days, gradually less frequent as plants mature. Mixing requires separate lime milk and copper sulfate solution combined at time of use to ensure stability.

Wessington, May 11 Special The Wessington unit of the American Legion Auxiliary held its annual Mothers day observance in the Legion room of the community hall. About 60 were present. The president Mrs Parthena Salles gave the welcome which was answered by Miss C W Dake. High school girls sang and Miss Rena Van Heuvelen presented two vocal numbers. Miss Gladys McElrath gave a musical reading and Mrs B F Brown and Mrs A S McKay performed a piano duet. Prizes were awarded for the best four line verse about mother. Flowers were given to several mothers of ex service men. Lunch was served at a long pink and white decorated table.

Codington Pioneer To Be Buried Today
Funeral services for Timothy Curley, 81, a Codington county pioneer who homesteaded near Henry in 1880, were to be held in Watertown. He died Tuesday after a yearlong illness, survived by six children, a sister, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
