Sharpe Rules on Road Sign Removal by State Highway

On May 7 Attorney General M C Sharpe held that the state highway commission may remove advertising signs placed on treaty highways without notice. He stated it is a criminal offense to place signs within 300 feet of main crossings or curves and that the commission can remove obstructions without owner notice. The AG noted highways are for public travel and the commission may prevent nontravel uses, though a grace period for removal can be reasonable.
