Rains Bring Aid To Irrigation Project
Newell South Dakota May 2 4 Prospects for ample irrigation on the Belle Fourche project look bright after the U S reclamation office reported that recent heavy rains raised the Orman dam water storage to nearly 100000 acre feet. The reservoir now gains over 2500 acre feet daily and a record 4500 acre feet flowed in 24 hours last Sunday. Superintendent FC Youngblutt estimates about 40000 acres require irrigation this year and anticipates higher levels with normal spring and summer precipitation.
