All City Officers Reappointed By City Commissioners
Virtually the entire city staff was reappointed for another year at last night’s city commission meeting. E. C. Hoskins became commissioner of streets and public property, defeating Dan Wegner. M. F. Walt, Lois Gannaway, W. Joy, and John P. Sauer were reappointed to key posts. All seven patrolmen and assistant police chief were renewed, with Mrs. E. K. Cashun as police matron and Mrs. John Tolmie seeking the matron role. W. H. Griffith was reappointed city health officer, Dr. R. A. Buchanan also applied. Carl Fetersoir again named water superintendent. maintenance staff trimmed from four to three. Some appointments deferred. street and public property hires postponed for review. A resolution praised Mr. Wagner’s five-year service. Final payment for the new sewage plant, $3,463.06, raised total to $165,520.24. Two ordinances granted final approval: moving the commission meeting night to Mondays and prohibiting taxi drivers from using 90-minute streets for parking, effective in 20 days.

Warren Hurst Dies Suddenly in Huron Businessman Profile
Warren Hurst 7, a longtime Huron business figure, died of a heart attack at his home on Dakota Avenue North. Born March 15, 1865 in Roberts Illinois, he moved from Illinois to South Dakota in 1886, later settling in Huron. Surviving are his wife Sarah Luella Ausdin, two children Mia.S. Goe thl and Clyde Hurst, and two brothers Joe Hurst and Harvey Hurst. Funeral services set for tomorrow at Kinyon chapel. burial Riverside cemetery.

Four Robbers Loot Tyler Minn Citizens State Bank
Four men robbed the Citizens State Bank of Tyler Minnesota of about $2000 today. They cowed five bank officials, fired several shots to intimidate townspeople, and fled in an automobile. No one was injured.

Mystery Veil Over Huron Plane Blaze at Airport
The burning airplane at Huron airport, last used Sunday, was found ablaze early this morning. Firefighters arrived around 1 30, but the aircraft a three‑place open American Eagle owned by Ira and George E Parsons 1928 purchase was destroyed and uninsured. The Evening Huranite reports details today.

Mrs. Alice V. Goodman of Yankton was reelected president of the South Dakota grand lodge of the Degree of Honor for a three year term at the closing session of the 18th triennial convention. Democratic Primary Battles Narrow in Beadle County
In Sioux Falls on May 4 Senator Norbeck led Harry Brownell in early returns with 83,283 to 24,495 and Charles Hartsough at 4,486. Governor Green led Gun derson 65,824 to 36,703 while Tom Ayres trailed. In the Beadle County Democratic gubernatorial race Berry led Corey 17,? to 14,004 across west river precincts, and Cherry overtook Bicknell for the senate nomination by a small margin as 1,122 precincts reported. Hoover-favored delegates widened the GOP edge as Hoovers regulars held 21,? to Progressives 12,995 in the national contest. The first district Democratic race narrowed with Hildebrandt leading 8,378 in 996 of 2,261 precincts, while Warwood trailed and Werner appeared poised to win the nomination. In the second district Williamson led Hammerquist by 10,496 with 200 precincts left, and Christopherson maintained a large GOP margin in the first district.
