A man struck by a Rock Island passenger train near Sioux Falls yesterday morning is identified as Simon Andreas Oftedal of Inwood Iowa by Coroner Lee Miller. Earlier a card with Lewis A. Fladen of Logan Iowa was mistaken for identification until a Norwegian certificate proved his identity.

John A Bowler, 69, Dies in Sioux Falls
John A Bowler former warden of the South Dakota penitentiary and former chairman of the Democratic state central committee died at his home in Sioux Falls Wednesday at age 69. He had served on the cement plant board, was mayor of Groton, born in Massachusetts in 1811, and came to Groton 22 years later. He leaves a widow, five sisters and two brothers.
