Des Moines March 27 A legislative investigating committee examined contracts between the University of Iowa and coal firms tied to Lt. Gov Arch McFarlane. Testimony by W A Chapman of the O'Hagan Coal and Arch McFarlane Fuel firms from Waterloo alleged a 19 cent per ton commission on coal sold to the university. The O'Hagan firm, formed in 1927, took over school coal contracts previously held by McFarlane.
