Janet Lee of Burbank and Allenene Rabe of Sioux Falls tied for second. several women were named most charming and friendliest. Ten women will be pictured in the Coyote beauties section. Judges listed include Ray Torkildson, Hob Royem, Harry Peterson, and others.

LeBlanc Named Acting Dean of State College Pharmacy

Floyd J. LeBlanc has been appointed acting dean of the State College pharmacy division effective July 1. He will replace Dean Earl R. Series, who becomes head of the University of Illinois college of pharmacy. LeBlanc, a State College alumnus, has advanced from student to professor and earned a PhD from Purdue University in pharmaceutical chemistry.

Takes Over Agency For Farm Implements in Conde

MINUE March 31 special Bert Lenz has taken over the International Harvester Company agency in Conde and will occupy the building recently vacated by the Fairmont Creamery Company. Miss Marie Bechtel who had charge of the IH office in Conde for William Bockelheide will leave for Cresbard to be employed as a bookkeeper for the Bockelheide Company there. The Fairmont Creamery Company moved into the old bakery building and will continue under Frank Funk.

Lane Teachers Club Holds March Meeting at Winters Home

Lane March meeting of the Lane Teachers' Club gathered at the home of Mr and Mrs George Winters Jr with Miss Helen Carr as hostess. Professional problems were discussed before cards with prizes awarded to Miss Winifred Goudie and Miss Ethel Parrett. Pioneer 90th birthday celebrated by Doland family

Charlen Lawrence pioneer resident of Doland was honored at a family reunion and dinner hosted by his son-in-law and daughter, Arthur James and wife. Four generation relatives attended, including daughter Mrs Will Labrie of St Paul and granddaughter Mrs C R Fargo of Omaha. Lawrence came to South Dakota from Wisconsin in 1881 and lived in Spink County 59 years.

Charged With Selling Mortgaged Property

Birch was brought from Vinton Iowa by the sheriff and state’s attorney. Miller Music Winners Named At Miller

Miller March 21 special air local music contest in the city auditorium featured solos and ensembles. Judge F H Johnson of Redfield presided. Miller school representatives include Dorothy Kindred and Mary Bard in solos. Dorothy Winegar and others in voice, instruments, and ensembles. Six girls selected for a girls sextet will join the state regional contest at Wessington Springs April 19. The girls glee club, boys glee club, band and orchestra, directed by Almira Button and Glen Shaw, will compete in the large ensemble events April 26 in Wessington Springs.
