Scouts Back Plan for CCC Camp Near Miller Grounds
Central South Dakota Boy Scout leaders from Pierre Hut Ton and Aberdeen push a proposal to locate a CCC camp on the Miller area scout grounds. John P F Walsh of Huron says he has recommended the plan to the state planning board. The project would create a 1 to 2 acre lake via a new dam and include landscaping and tree planting, with enough nearby work to keep CCC workers busy for at least six months. The camp would reuse barracks and mess houses and could become a leading Boy Scout camp in the nation if approved.
