Rules Cannot Use Funds For Counsel
County commissioners lack authority to use county funds to hire counsel for appeals from districting decisions. The attorney general informs state’s attorney C. P. Seward that when a county appeals, the state's attorney must represent the county. commissioners have no greater interest than a circuit judge in the appeal’s outcome.
