Randi Lerohl a 44 year old scrubwoman from Superior Wisconsin began a solo 2000 mile row to the Gulf of Mexico Down the Mississippi she turned back four miles from New Orleans. Captain D Dantin reported seeing her and her skiff in Bayou St Dennig as she headed for New Orleans. The reason for reversing course was not known. She had saved 150 and was provisioned when a river tow boat brought her to New Orleans where she received a new skiff.

Free garden seed and seed potatoes will be sent to relief areas in South Dakota North Dakota Montana and Nebraska next month announced Red Cross director Albert Evans. About 4000 bushels of seed potatoes two bushels per family and 243000 individual seed packets will be distributed to 5200 families in 27 counties of South Dakota and to Nebraska lists compiled by Red Cross chairmen. The seed assortment includes beans cabbage carrots corn lettuce Swiss chard and more with specific varieties named.

Four Louisville men Guy Mortis Oaford Edwards Earl Jefferies and Les Stanley pleaded guilty in Clinton Iowa to the $106000 City National bank robbery on Tuesday. They were sentenced in district court to life imprisonment and to be taken to Ranmasa today. The men entered the bank waited for 38 employees and customers then bound them before forcing the vault open. Most of the cash was recovered from a cache at Camanche leaving about 500 unaccounted for.

Identity Of Gas Fatal To Four In Kalamazoo
Four children died and others were in serious condition as investigators sought the gas cause at the Claus K Laning home in Kalamazoo Michigan.
