44 Emergency Laws Approved In South Dakota
South Dakota Gov. Tom Beery signed 44 emergency laws today after the 1933 legislature. Of 205 bills, 45 carried emergency clauses becoming operative on signing. the attorney general deemed one emergency clause ineffective delaying its effect to July 1. Laws cover mortgage foreclosures, delinquent taxes, rural credit, motor vehicle license changes, and banking suspensions.

Work Begins On South Dakota Mobridge Lake Project
Mobridge, Mar 14 Work has started on what will be the largest artificial lake in South Dakota. The site is eight miles southeast of Mobridge. The lake will cover about 200 acres with depths up to 36 feet in the main channel and deeper in many areas. The dam will run about 1400 feet long and 173 feet wide at the base, 40 feet high, requiring roughly 96 000 cubic yards of dirt and 36 000 cubic yards of rock for rip rap.
