4-H boys buy purebred gilts at Gettysburg clubs

Gettysburg and Gorman organize two 4-H pig clubs with 24 purebred gilts to be purchased from top herds. Myron Eggers leads Gettysburg unit with 23 members, while the Gorman group has nine members led by Howard Bevers. Banks finance the venture at seven percent. pigs include Chester Whites, Hampshires, Poland China, Duroc Jersey, and Spotted Poland China gilts, mostly to farrow in March.

Two Amendments Put to South Dakota Voters

Serre March 8 a P dispatch reports two constitutional amendments heading to the general election. One seeks salaries for all state officers by the legislature with two thirds vote and no extra compensation, except possibly for a governor’s residence.
