Mysterious Blaze Destroys Farm Home in Sheffield
Near Sheffield on a Friday morning the farm home of David D. Fast and its contents burned to the ground. Mr and Mrs Fast saw smoke from a knoll while repairing fence and rushed to the house but the flames were too hot to save the building. The origin of the blaze remains a mystery. Mrs Fast did not light a fire that morning.

One Mile Of West Paying Completed In Dakota
Delays due to equipment trouble slowed work on the 6.4 mile paying project on federal highway No. 14 west of Huron. M J Kammerer, Jensen paving supervisor, reported progress after a crane overturn and said a full crew will work tomorrow for a Fourth of July holiday. By mid August the job should be finished, two weeks ahead of schedule, with grading crews ahead of concrete work on the west end and plans to join efforts for a grade through the Wetrick farm eliminating a sharp corner near the state fair grounds. The Wetrick land was acquired by the state for 2000 after condemnation.

Free Show Draws 600 Huron Children to Theater
