N D Grain notes U S carry over about 400 million bushels of wheat and private estimates put 1941 wheat at 880 million, giving a total supply near 1.2 billion bushels to store. With southern grain moving to eastern terminals, national storage may be exhausted before spring harvest, forcing North Dakota farmers to face little chance of moving much of the 1941 crop east.
