Majority in favor of national daylight saving plan
A 1941 Gallup survey shows a large majority of American voters support adopting daylight saving time nationwide through summer to save electricity and extend daylight hours. Farmers remain most opposed to year round daylight time, while urban and rural communities favor summer daylight saving and many back year-round adoption.

Former Manchester Youth Enlists in Army Reserve
A former Manchester youth left today for Omaha to report for duty as a second lieutenant in the U S Army injury reserve. After exams at Omaha he will join 28 other State College reserve officers bound for Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. Lieut Ritterbusch completed three years of high school there.

Local graduate earns agriculture degree with honors
