Wage study results on South Dakota PWA projects
Omaha dispatch reports that public works administration employees on South Dakota projects have received 4 541 873 dollars in wages since 1933. The labor bureau estimated 57.4 cents of a construction worker's dollar went to food, clothing and housing, with the rest to household operation transport medical care and other items. John D. Evans, acting PWA regional director, says the study reveals local spending distribution among merchants and landlords.

Kiwanians Plan To Aid Needy Children With Programs
Boston June 21 plans for the 1939 40 under privileged child and normal youth programs were discussed at Kiwanis International convention. Health work includes clinics hospitalization preventoriums camps and food and clothing. Churches schools and other institutions will cooperate in character building and citizenship. Classes for sub normal children and aid for juvenile delinquents are part of the educational program. Eleven of the 16 South Dakota clubs aid under privileged children. Lane Woman Injured In Auto Collision
Mrs Wad Pawlowski is in a Mitchell hospital with serious injuries after an automobile crash Saturday evening one half mile east and a mile south of Lane. The Pawlowski car, carrying Mr and Mrs Pawlowski and two grandsons, was struck by a Mitchell driver as it entered Highway 34 from a side road. Mrs Pawlowski suffered multiple injuries including dislocations and possible limb injuries.
