West SME Harmony Club Picnics At Cottonwood
Nearly fifty members and their families from the West Side Harmony club of Spink county women’s extension clubs held their annual picnic at the Fred Heckman cottage on Cottonwood Lake twelve miles southwest of Redfield. The afternoon featured games, bathing, fishing, and a picnic supper served at six.

V F W Prepares For Encampment In Huron
Members of the Huron post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars began preparations for the first annual encampment of the South Dakota Department to be held in Huron on July 19 and 20. Department Commander James F Lowrie announced plans for a two day program at the Elks hall and Marvin Hughitt hotel with drills a parade a military ball and by law adoption and organization. Delegates from across the state will attend and drum and bugle corps are expected.

Redfield youth suffers broken leg in accident
Six year old John Killinger, son of Mr and Mrs Chas Killinger of Redfield, suffered a broken leg when he was knocked down and run over by a par vel post delivery truck driven by John Trier. He was rushed to Baldwin hospital and is reported to be recovering nicely.

4-H Club Camp Plans Include Meals and Assembly
The message invites all club members to bring toilet accessories kodaks blank bathing suits and tea towels to the car this year. The first meal is Wednesday night a general assembly is held Wednesday at 1 with instructions given by camp leaders. Camp activities begin Thursday with girls attending and stunt night that evening.
