Huron city schools superintendent A J Lang says the annual census of those aged 6 to 21 shows a steady rise in school age numbers, with overall growth of about 50 to 75 yearly over the past decade, though ages 17 to 21 show a decline. Three Pass Tests For Air Licenses At Huron Airport
Three pilots earned aviation licenses last week at Huron airport while 16 out of town planes stopped there, in one of the busiest weeks in the airport's history. William Werdel Ree Heights passed a limited commercial license test, J C Jenkins Mitchell passed the name test, and Frank Blume Huron received a mechanic's license, all tested by Lester Orcutt Fargo North Dakota, a commerce inspector, who flew in in a Travelair Junior biplane. Lecture Series Opened At Huron College Chapel
Dr H G Durand of Yankton college opened a five part lecture series on the history of art at Huron college chapel. He spoke on primitive and Renaissance Italian painters with six named masters Cimabue Glotte Fra Angelico Masaccio Fra Filippo Lippi and Ghirlandaio. The second lecture will cover later Italian painters and Dutch school at 4 pm with Mrs Durand assisting. Lectures continue daily at the same hour through the week.

Annual Flower Show Opens Tomorrow in Huron
Entries for Huron's annual spring flower show will be received tomorrow morning at the R N Jones garage 210 Third Street Southwest. The event runs tomorrow afternoon and evening and Friday 10 to 5 with 22 classes. Each entry comprises three blooms except daisies pansies and columbines with 12 blooms. Rain last week boosted bloom quality and many fine perennials are expected. Yard and garden contest entries also accepted during the show.

Funeral services for Peter Trumbo, an early resident of Canning, were held at the Presbyterian church in Blunt with Rev. Mr. Kofski officiating. Interment followed in Blunt cemetery. Trumbo and his family moved from Canning years ago and have since resided in Little Rock, Arkansas.

A truck carrying ten young men from New York touring the west wrecked four miles east of Blunt after striking a parked stock truck without lights. The incident happened late Monday night after the New Yorkers passed a car.
