State Champs Win Huron Bridge Cup
The Huron Bridge Club met in the Marvin Hughitt Hotel for the final pair match of the season. Winners in the first section were Mrs J W Ankenmann and Mrs William Gagnon with Mr and Mrs H M Pierce in second. A tie for third went to Mrs Ellen Van Arsdale with Mrs Karl Lampe and to Mrs Tom Carroll with Mrs Paul Rose. The Carroll Rose team drew a trey while the Van Arsdale Lampe pair drew a deuce. Second section honors went to Mrs Geonard Hilligoss and Mcs.

Services Friday For James Buchan Highmore
Funeral rites set for James Buchan 79 Hyde County pioneer and civic leader who died at his home in Highmore after a long illness. Masonic services led by Judge Charles N. Hall with burial in Highmore cemetery. Scotland native, he migrated to Canada then Indiana before moving to Hyde County in 1884. He served as Hyde County auditor 1908 to 1912 and later as commissioner of school and public lands at Pierre. Elected clerk of courts of Hyde County in 1916, he served until 1985 when ill health forced retirement.

The funeral of Gay Barrows, 79, was held at the Episcopal Church with Rev. W. L. Johnson officiating and burial in the local cemetery after a fall caused hip fracture. Barrows died at Huron hospital. his wife had predeceased him. A divorce was granted to Emma J. Voshell of Huron from Harry A. Voswell of Washburn, Wis, after 25 years of marriage, alleging cruel treatment. judge Boyd M. Benson signed. The Voshells were married April 12, 1914, in Wisconsin and have one child. In 1804 the Bible translation reached 72 languages.

Beadle County Sheriff John Boyle reported that a Hitchcock farmer failed to identify a trio of gypsies arrested in Ipswich Monday night. Heinemann, taken to Ipswich to verify identity, said the suspects were not the wallet thieves who fleeced him of seventy dollars last week. The group consisted of two women and a man.
