Seven Month Old Baby Dies In Farm Fire Near Midland
A seven month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Sheely died when a fire destroyed their small one story home three quarters of a mile south of Midland. Firemen arrived as the blaze consumed the dwelling believed to have started from a stove. The infant’s body was later removed to a Philip mortuary. The father was away at the time and the mother, after lighting a kerosene stove, left briefly to bake and returned to a dangerous blaze.

About 500 soldiers from the Fourth United States Cavalry moved through Huron Minnesota en route to Camp Ripley. The party, the third to pass this week, came from Fort Meade South Dakota and stopped overnight at Pierre before camping at Lake Benton. They travel in over 200 motorized vehicles including scout cars trucks and motorcycles. Earlier this week about 1 200 Wyoming soldiers moved through Huron en route to Camp Ripley. National guardsmen from South Dakota will join the encampment in August.
