County seeks reduction in Beadle land assessments
Beadle county commissioners began equalizing township assessments to lower farm land values. Drastic cuts appeared in Custer township from 50 to 29 dollars per acre, while Sand Creek held at 31 from 32.50 last year. Directors noted neighboring counties cut up to 30 percent, but warned cutting beyond 15 to 20 percent could trigger a state upward readjustment.
