Claims Dam Was Run Efficiently From Belle Fourche
BELLE FOURCHE, July 1 F C Youngblutt director of reclamation for the federal government denied charges of an inefficient Belle Fourche irrigation project. He said the lake was drained in 1923 to repair valves and that the carp seining plan was decided in spring 1928. Drought left the water supply precariously low with 56000 acre feet remaining on July 1 and farms to be shut off as the apportionment delivers 14 inches per area with possible reapportionment if storage improves.
