Carleton Wins Title But Loses Perrin
Carleton secured a Midwest conference title tie after beating Coe and Cornell, but Sam Perrin suffered a season ending ankle sprain in a CU combat. Perrin’s loss weakens Carleton for a game against South Dakota University, yet they defeated the Coyotes again. Coach Cowles lauds Perrin as a clutch player and one of his best floor generals, noting his key guarding of Mark Almir in the first Carleton game and sensational work when the team trailed against Cornell. Perrin joined Carleton in 1927 from Huron South Dakota, whose high school team won a state title and placed fourth nationally at the Chicago Stage meet.
