The North west Grain association stands firm on safeguarding affiliated cooperatives at the Farm Board price for wheat. W J Kuhrt, general manager, announced plans as he traveled to Br Mobridge SD to outline the Farm Board strategy to farmers and cooperatives with A Le Bors Charles Eyler H E Covey and others. The group invited applications for stock to affiliate cooperatives while awaiting a permanent agreement.

Taft Battling Illness Reaches Point of No Hope
Washington Feb 27 Physicians said former president and chief justice William Howard Taft, 72, was in a critical condition after weeks of illness with no hope for recovery. Affected by heart and arterial weaknesses, he has remained bedridden since resigning as chief justice and has shown little improvement. The White House canceled a reception as Taft’s condition stabilized only minimally, with no pain reported.

Black Hills Oil Project Growing
HOT SPRINGS February 27 Progress in expansion plans for the Black Hills oil fields was outlined by P. Ward president of the Black Hills Petroleum company. Storage tanks are nearly finished and Barker well number one is being connected to the power plant for pumping. Oil will fuel drilling of three more wells on the Barker structure and for other work nearby. Three new cells planned with two or more wells drilled soon. one will be near the current site, others northwest and west. A fourth possible. Ward expects simultaneous drilling to bring all wells in together for shipment to the railroad. A Denver geologist Lupton reported the field very encouraging.

Deputy Collectors Offer Tax Aid In Huron March

Mabel Normand will be buried Friday in Southern California in a private service attended by immediate family and a few film colony members. Lew Cody announced the rites, to be led by Father Michael J. Millins at Good Shepherd Church Beverly Hills and the body placed in a Calvary Cemetery crypt. Normand’s mother travels from Staten Island to the coast for the funeral.

John A. Wilson 84 Dies at Home in Beadle County
John A. Wilson aged 84 died about 4 30 this morning at his home 448 Montana Avenue Southwest after a long illness. He was born March 25 and moved from New Hampshire to North Collins New York then to Dakota territory in 1882 settling near Yale. He married Murry H. Rogers in Huron and lived in Cavour before moving to Huron in 1906. Surviving are wife four daughters and one son Earl died in infancy. Funeral plans pending for out of town relatives.

Funeral set for Friday at 2:50 p.m. at the Presbyterian church in Huron with burial at Riverside cemetery. Survived by widow, son, step-sons, mother, three sisters, three brothers, and many relatives.
