Homestake Investigates Fatal Mine Accident
Homestake Mining officials continued their probe into the fatal accident Tuesday morning at the 2 906 foot level. Helmer P Isackson 22 died after being dragged over rock while entangled in a scraper hoist cable. The incident followed another two weeks earlier as bonuses totaling over 9000 dollars were distributed to 727 workers with no accidents in a year. 78 recipients had five or more years without an incident.
