Coolidge Denies Involvement In Mount Rushmore Inscription
Reports from Black Hills say former president Calvin Coolidge denied being consulted on the 500 word history to be carved on Mount Rushmore. Sculptor Borglum and memorial officials cited long discussions and a plan to place two paragraphs about the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution to be ready by May 1 and gilded by July 4 for unveiling with Washington's head.

The Day of Rest Sunday as a weekly renewal
The piece argues for one day of rest each week, preferably Sunday, to halt life's rot and refresh the mind and body. It cautions against inactivity, urging uncommon, healthful activities while setting aside routine tasks, and condemns the real Sabbath breaker as persistent restlessness.
Rest on the Sabbath to Improve Efficiency and Balance
The piece argues that Sunday rest benefits workers and families. It cites efficiency studies showing eight-hour days equal ten-hour days for output and warns against Sunday work. It likens a lord chancellor’s retreat to family time and notes seven days of work won’t advance finances or contracts.
