West of the City Guests Shine at Valentines Bridge

Flapper Fanny notes a Sunday evening gathering west of the city with bumco games awards for Ralph Bloodgood and Henry Meyers. Miss Ilica Bloodgood and August Micheal had low scores. Pink and white decor graced the room and lunch. Bloodgood received many gifts. A second dinner-bridge for twenty guests used pink red colors, romen motifs, and red tapers. Winners were Dr. W. H. Saxton, Mrs. Ela Osborn, and Mrs. Irving Crawford.

Hatchet Burial Ends Washington Social Feud

In Washington on February 7 a funeral for Dolly Gann and Alice Langworth drew decorous ladies who laughed aloud as an eight black casket was buried under a headstone inscribed Hello Dolly Hello Alice a carving that mocked the Gann Longworth feud. The National Women's Press Club conducted the service and guests included the two principals who, at a White House reception, reportedly ended the feud. Longworth received a silver wedding anniversary portrait from the reporters.

Mrs Fay Stekke Rites Held in Woonsocket

Funeral services for Mrs Fay Stekke, prominent Woonsocket woman, were held Tuesday at the Methodist church following her death Wednesday afternoon in a Mitchell hospital.

Mina Hager Returns to Native State for Huron Concert

Mezzo soprano Mina Hager of New York City returns to South Dakota touring cities including Huron to visit friends and relatives and perform at the Huron college auditorium next Monday night before heading to Chicago as a soloist for the Apollo club on February 22. She recalls ties to Huron and mentions brother Eugene Hager, a 1908 state championship halfback.

Youthful Thief Ring Broken At Mitchell

Mitchell police broke up two boy gangs, one aged 10 to 13 and another 14 to. Fifteen youths were arrested after a Saturday disturbance at the Corn Palace. The younger group confessed after two brothers admitted breaking into a grocery store and stealing cigarettes and candy. The older brother was sent to reform school and paroled to his parents. A sack left cigarett es behind by a ten year old who fled when questioned.

Quadruplets To Leave Hospital At Aberdeen

Aberdeen Feb 1 The number of patients at two hospitals here will be reduced today or Wednesday when Mrs. Fred Schense and her quadruplets leave for the country. The mother and babies will not go home but will be housed with persons unnamed to prevent interfering with the infants welfare.
