Scientists Measure Star Distances by Candlepower Analysis
Albert Einstein visits Mount Wilson as Dr. Walter S. Adams explains how stellar distances can be derived from true candlepower. By comparing light output and observed brightness, astronomers determine a star’s distance, using the relation that light dims with the square of distance and stellar composition reveals candlepower through light analysis.
