Ice Rig Breaks Up In Operation Fatal Ice Accident Near Potato Lake

PARK RAPIDS IL Dec Two men were injured when struck by saw blades and steel fragments from an ice sawing rig that shattered on Potato Lake late Wednesday. Ray G Saxton a summer resort owner died in a hospital from loss of blood and exposure his right arm severed. Richard James an employee suffered a broken leg and deep cuts and crawled to a car for help three miles away before collapsing and being hospitalized in critical condition. Debris covered about 150 yards of ice.
