Redfield area filings show several incorporations. A Sioux Falls company, Matufactur ioux Falls, plans truck and auto parts production with stock. incorporators include Ed Wilson and Miles E. Hopkins. Separate Redfield filings name The Book Raking Co for $3, with Leland Hopkins and Richard Hopkins among incorporators. The Mack Hills Building and Loan Association of Torpid extends its charter.

Preston Man Patents Automobile Heater

LAKE PRESTON December 24. Business is reported good at the manufacturing plant here which turns out motor heaters patented by O D Thorsnes of this city. The heater is designed to do away with cranked radiators and operates by electricity from a light socket. Water in the radiator is heated and the engine is supposed to become warm and easier to start.

Odd ear of corn donated to university museum

An unusual ear of corn found south of Centerburg by E Li ieiler farm was measured at five and a half inches long with eighteen kernel rows. The ear is largely filled to the tip with two husk petals near the bottom, and only one kernel row visible. This unique specimen will be given to the South Kota University Museum.

Defamation suit seeks 20000 damages in Siouan Falls

In Siouan Falls on December 24, E J Wade filed in circuit court a defamation action against David Jameson of Witte S C seeking damages of 20000 for allegedly falsifying and defaming his character and that of his wife after two letters were mailed by Jameson to Wade's wife.

The second annual Farm Institute sponsored by the Chicago and Northwestern railroad will be held in Rapid City and Belle Fourche on February 23 and 27. Madison Patriotic Groups Plan New Home

With Madison's municipal building completion on February 1, patriotic organizations will have a shared meeting space in the assembly hall on the second floor. Vermillion December 1 The largest enrollment in the history of the University of South Dakota is recorded for the period December 1 1928 to December 1 1929 with a total of 1500 students. Regular university students extension students and university high school pupils are included marking a notable increase over the 1925 record.
