Pierre reports that after a November uptick farm prices receded by early December to around 70 percent of pre war average. Wheat and cotton were lower month to month, while apples, potatoes, lambs and other crops rose slightly. Hog prices fell after early November gains, with butcher stock expected down this winter, while cattle prices showed a new peak mid November and may rise as supplies tighten in coming months.

Distribution of Government Park Supplies at Manchester

Lee Arbogast dies at 75 in Ames funeral held
Lee Arbogast of Mondamin township died at his home in Ames after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held at the Milles Methodist church Monday for the pioneer farmer who homesteaded in 1894. He leaves the widow eight children several grandchildren and a great grandson. One son Charles could not attend due to illness after an operation.
